  • In-depth clause analysis
  • Rider clauses
  • Charterparty & Documents (TANKER)

  • Letter of credits, Bill of Lading
  • Modes of payment
  • Frauds and care to be taken
  • Bill of Lading & LOI
  • E-BL and other developments

  • Laytime, Demurrage and Dispatch
  • World scale

  • Maritime Law and Regulations

About the Speakers


Capt. Ashok Sharma
Managing Director,

Capt. Sharma began his sea career in 1982 as a deck cadet with Great Eastern, later becoming a Master and Operations Manager at OMI, amassing 20 years of maritime experience. Transitioning to brokerage, he has spent 21 years as a broker, including roles at Braemar Seascope, JM Baxi, and Marshall Produce Brokers. He is now the Managing Director and board member of BRS Baxi Far East Pte Ltd in Singapore, responsible for top-line and bottom-line growth and international marketing. Capt. Sharma has secured a global client base, establishing a niche in the tanker-chartering segment.




Dr. Abhay Singh Thakur
Assistant Professor, School Of Maritime Law, Policy & Administration, Gujarat Maritime University,

Dr. Abhay Singh Thakur is an Assistant Professor and Center Head at Gujarat Maritime University, specializing in Shipping Laws, Marine Environmental Law, and International Carriage Law. With over eight years in academia and industry, he has presented at international conferences and published research in SCOPUS/WOS/UGC-indexed journals. He holds a Doctorate from Gujarat National Law University and a Master’s in Law from WBNUJS, Kolkata, and is UGC-NET qualified. Dr. Thakur is frequently invited as a resource person by prestigious institutions.




Mr. Krishnan Subramaniam
International VC of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and advisor at Transworld Group of Companies,

Mr. Krishnan Subramaniam, International Vice Chairman of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers , leads digital transformation and professional development initiatives and serves as a strategic advisor at Transworld Group. With over four decades of experience in the Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals sectors across India, the Middle East, and Singapore, he has held leadership roles in marine logistics, supply chain management, and academia. His career includes significant contributions to Shell Chemicals, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (India), and Bharat Petroleum, focusing on logistics, supply chain planning, and operations management.




Capt. Shashi Shekhar
Head - Human Resources -Ocean Sparkle Limited.,

Capt. Shashi Shekhar, Ex Head of Human Resources at Ocean Sparkle Limited, Adani Ports, has extensive maritime and HR experience. He has held senior roles at H-Energy Group and Sparkle Terminal, and was previously a Master Mariner with companies like Great Ship and The Shipping Corporation of India. He holds a Bachelor's in Nautical Science, a PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management, and an HR certification. His expertise includes cargo operations, safety training, and client relations




Mr. Sandeep Misra
Ex General Manager in Commercial Operations, SCI,

Mr. Sandeep Misra, Ex GM Commercial Operations at the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), has over three decades of experience in chartering and operations for bulk carriers, tankers, and container ships. He played a key role in SCI's joint venture, Irano Hind Shipping Company, in Tehran, and led the management of LNG tankers and VLGCs. Renowned for his expertise in revenue generation, cost control, and business development, Mr. Misra excels in chartering, commercial operations, and company management. He holds a Master's in Management Studies from the University of Mumbai and a B.Sc. from St. John’s College, Agra.
