Capt. Amarinder Brar: 

  • Master Mariner with over 25 years of maritime industry experience
  • 17 years at sea, including 6 years in command
  • Holds a Master of Maritime Law (Merit) from the University of Southampton
  • Completed a PG Diploma in Marine Insurance from World Maritime University, Malmö
  • Served as a Nautical Lecturer in India, teaching all grades of deck competency
  • Worked as a Marine Surveyor for the UK’s MCA, including Port State Control (PSC) duties and Former Consultant at LOC London, supporting the maritime legal and insurance sectors
  • Currently a Marine Manager at MFB Solicitors, London, involved in both dry and wet shipping dispute

 

Capt. Puneet Sareen: 

  • Master Mariner with 15+ years of seagoing experience.
  • obtained my unlimited Master Mariner licence from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, UK in 2016
  • He was admitted to the rolls of High Court of England and Wales in August 2024, and thus joined those few master mariners who are also English qualified solicitors.
  • Working as a solicitor assisting clients in a wide variety of contentious issues across the maritime legal sector - specialising in wet / admiralty matters.
  • His previous experiences include working with an IG P&I Club as a Claims Executive and an international shipping law firm as an in-house consultant/case handler.

 

The webinar would consist of the following:

About the Speakers


Capt. Amarinder Brar
Marine Manager - MFB Solicitors,

Capt. Amarinder Brar: He is a master mariner with over 25 years of industry experience. This includes 17 years at sea with 6 years of command time, followed by Master of Maritime Law (Merit) from the University of Southampton. He also holds a PG diploma in Marine Insurance from World Maritime University, Malmo. He has worked as Nautical Lecturer in India for all grades of deck competency, a marine surveyor for MCA in UK which included PSC duties, as a Consultant for LOC London serving the maritime legal and insurance sectors. He now works as Marine manager with MFB Solicitors, London where he is involved in both dry and wet shipping disputes.




Capt. Puneet Sareen
Master Mariner,

Puneet spent 15 years at sea on various tankers trading globally, before transitioning ashore with an LLM in International Maritime Law from Swansea University.

Prior joining Hill Dickinson, he worked worked as a Claims Executive at an IG P&I Club and as an in-house tanker consultant at an international shipping law firm.

 In his current role, he provides legal advice to clients in matters varying from collision liabilities, salvage and wreck removal operations, cargo contamination and shortage claims, safe port claims, general average incidents, pollution incidents; as well as demurrage, bunker claims, underperformance and a variety of charterparty disputes.

 Puneet obtained his unlimited Master Mariner licence from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, UK in 2016. He acquired an LLM in International Maritime Law (Distinction) from Swansea University in 2020. Further, he was admitted to the Senior Courts of England and Wales as a Solicitor in 2024.
