Grass is always greener on the other side!!!!

We mariners are employed in an uncommon and exciting field. While most of us are happy during sailing but when on leave ashore we are surrounded by persons who are working in other industries and functions and who come home to family every day. This intrigues us and makes us think “It would be nice for us to probably get into this new industry” and hence a “MID-LIFE CRISIS” begins.

This is a slow and steady process and all persons face this. For persons working ashore, it’s probably a little easier to handle as they have more resources available and it’s relatively easier to shift to an associated field.

Mariners are however, in a fairly well compensated job with a great lifestyle. Hence the risk for career transition is higher and hence we are unable to:

  • Understand whether we are in a mid-life crisis?
  • Do we really need a career transition or is it just another fad which will wane off
  • How and with whom do we discuss this?
  • Finally, whose help do we take to decide the further course of action.

Sea and Beyond received these questions or questions similar to this on regular basis. We here by arrange a FREE MASTERCLASS by Capt. Harsh Johari.
