This MCA UK Officer of the Watch course is meticulously crafted to furnish aspiring maritime professionals with quality resources and with proper mentoring to ensure they are well-prepared for the diverse responsibilities encompassing watchkeeping, navigation, communication, log-keeping, and emergency responses.

 

Subjects covered 

 

  1. Sailings (Plane Parallel Mercator etc),
  2. Tides (Std & Sec Ports of Europe and Atlantic and Pacific)
  3. Celestial Navigation (Amp Az of Sum Stars and Planets, Polaris)
  4. Chartwork
  5. Theory of SQA, (BPG, SOLAS, MGN’s etc)
  6. Stability KG calculations, GM, GZ & FSE
  7. Load lines
  8. List & Longitudinal Stability.

 

Please Note: 

 

  • Digital copy of study material and resources will be shared with the students
  • It is advised to keep - Scientific Calculator, Drawing and writing material handy during the course
  • Classes are conducted 5 days a week, 3 to 4  hours per day
  • Students will be ready for exam as soon as course is completed.
  • Total teaching time 120 hours (4 - 5 weeks)

 

During course 

 

Students will be doing Questions of Past papers during the course & will be solving Past papers on their own before completion.
