In this regard, we are holding a webinar on 27th June with Mr. Vijay Arora who is the Managing Director in Indian Register of shipping and who once sailed as Chief Engineer on merchant vessel.

Mr. Vijay Arora is a qualified Marine Engineer with a professional experience of more than 3 decades. His sailing experience includes Great Eastern Shipping Company for approximately 5 years. His experience includes working as a Tool Design Engineer with a Tractor/ Harvester combine, light commercial vehicle manufacturing company, a shore-based automobile industry.
While at IRS, he has worked in various survey stations in India & abroad and has handled multiple responsibilities at Head Office while heading ship classification & certification, statutory, quality systems and Technical Division.

About the Speakers
Mr. Vijay Arora
Managing Director Indian Register of Shipping,Mr. Vijay Arora is a qualified Marine Engineer with a professional experience of more than 3 decades. His sailing experience includes Great Eastern Shipping Company for approximately 5 years. His experience includes working as a Tool Design Engineer with a Tractor/ Harvester combine, light commercial vehicle manufacturing company, a shore-based automobile industry.
While at IRS, he has worked in various survey stations in India & abroad and has handled multiple responsibilities at Head Office while heading ship classification & certification, statutory, quality systems and Technical Division.

- Chairman of the Safety Panel at IACS
- Chairman of IACS General Policy Group (GPG)
- Participation in the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO’s) :
- Ship Design and Construction (SDC)
- Ship Systems and Equipment (SSE)
- Maritime Safety Committee (MSC)
- Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC)
- IACS Meetings
He is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Future Fuels magazine.
He is actively involved in decarbonization, digitalization, development of rules & technology for alternative fuels as well as training & skill upgradation of surveyors in respect of alternative fuels.
