Capt. Amol Deshmukh is a Master Mariner with an L.L.M degree in Maritime law from the University of Southampton. He is presently in the process of qualifying as an advocate in India and has over eighteen years experience in the maritime industry.
Until recently, Amol setup and headed the global shipping claims team at Scorpio Group for four years. He acted as the first point of contact for all shipping disputes within the group’s fleet of owned and chartered vessels. His role involved providing prompt legal advice to the commercial team and liaising with P&I Clubs, correspondents, surveyors and solicitors as required, to ensure prompt and efficient handling of claims and disputes.
He is also the former branch secretary of the Nautical Institute, a voluntary delegate to the IMO’s Legal sub-committee and has been invited as a speaker at various shipping conferences worldwide.

About the Speakers
Capt. Amol Deshmukh
Director of Claims & Insurance at Celestial Meridian Shipping Pvt. Ltd.,Capt. Amol Deshmukh is a Master Mariner with an L.L.M degree in Maritime law from the University of Southampton.
