Capt. Brar has over a 25 years’ experience in shipping. His notable career highlights are:
- Mate at 21, Chief Mate at 25, Command at 29, stopped sailing at 35
- Worked as a trainer/assessor for ARI, worked as flag state surveyor for MCA UK, trained PSCO for Paris MOU,
- Undertaken MWS for LOC, investigated shipping incidents, undertaken incident management for major casualty, provided expert reports in shipping disputes in Hong Kong and London, assisted clients in London Arbitration
- Currently working in a leading maritime law firm. He interacts closely with leading P&I Clubs on matters of shipping disputes.

About the Speakers
Capt. Amarinder Brar
Marine Manager - MFB Solicitors,Capt. Amarinder Brar: He is a master mariner with over 25 years of industry experience. This includes 17 years at sea with 6 years of command time, followed by Master of Maritime Law (Merit) from the University of Southampton. He also holds a PG diploma in Marine Insurance from World Maritime University, Malmo. He has worked as Nautical Lecturer in India for all grades of deck competency, a marine surveyor for MCA in UK which included PSC duties, as a Consultant for LOC London serving the maritime legal and insurance sectors. He now works as Marine manager with MFB Solicitors, London where he is involved in both dry and wet shipping disputes.
