As mariners, we have been part of numerous training, inspections, audits and surveys. We have all thought, discussed, slogged, prepared and probably cursed these assessments but at the same time prayed for a successful assessment to ensure our vessel passes them with flying colors.
We all would have thought of what it takes to become one of assessors (auditor, inspector, surveyor) and probably dreamed of our conduct as an assessor. We would have surely discussed these with the assessors who visited on board as well. In all probability we would have realized that this is something which we could naturally to us and it would be easily to quickly get into such roles.
In this regard, we would like to conduct a webinar to help you understand:
- Difference between an audit, survey and inspection
- What do companies look into while hiring an assessor
- What are the key skills and personality required to become one
- What differentiates a good from an excellent assessor

Sea and Beyond is privileged to have Mr. Neville Jayant to help us present on the subject topic. Mr.Jayant is working as Operations Manager at SeaTec U.K Limited (part of V.Ships). He has been working ashore in U.K since past 14 years out of which for past 11 years, he has managed:
- implementation all onboard Safety Training, Audits, Inspections, and Ship’s Security Services
- He has hired at least 120 Masters and Chief Engineers in his team out of which 50 numbers are at any point in his team.
- Developed comprehensive training programs and arranged seminars at various locations worldwide.
- Conceptualized, designed, developed and implemented in-house web-based database programme (SID) incorporating client management, travel logistics, questionnaire databank, and final Report submission with added benefits of safety trends and analysis of historic vessel inspection reports
Mr. Jayant has sailed for 17 years on board vessel. He holds a masters license and has sailed as Chief Officer in B.P Shipping. He has also done a full time course on MSc in Shipping, Ports & Environment from Solent University UK in 2005-06 after which he worked as a Supt’d in V. Ships U.K.

Neville Jayant
