After a sailing career of 20 plus years on various types of vessels, Capt. Dewan stepped ashore with his first assignment in ARI Delhi as Quality Manager and Trainer.
He then became HSEQ Supt’d with Seatrain Inc and thereafter moved to Germany where he lived and worked for over six years as Director and Head of QHSE, Vetting & Training with Harren & Partner Group.In 2012 he returned to India and became an entrepreneur and is now Partner at QHSE Risk Consultants LLP and EQHSE.Com. In his present role Capt. Dewan provides Risk Management consultancy along with host of other services which includes ISO certification, web based IT applications, training, maritime legal services and incident investigation services.
While working he has added value to his profile by doing the following courses :
- PGD in Maritime law, London Metropolitan University
- Certified technical consultant, Ministry of Science and Technology
- Certified Risk Implementer
- Lead Assessor for ISO 9001,ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001
- Certified Occupational Safety & Health Auditor for Statutory Compliance -IS 14489 & Indian Factory Act
He is also:
- Specialist Member – IIRSM,London
- Member – IOSH, London
- Corporate Member – National Safety Council (NSC),India
- Ex member – INTERTANKO Security Council, London
