In our attempt to further enhance your awareness, Sea and Beyond is proud to present to you a webinar by the International Group of P&I Clubs (IGP&I).

The International Group of P&I Clubs (IGP&I) is comprised of 12 major P&I clubs which between them provide marine third-party liability cover (protection and indemnity) for approximately 90% of the world's ocean-going tonnage.

The International Group has three core functions:

  1. The Group co-ordinates and operates the Clubs’ claims pooling arrangements in accordance with the terms of the Pooling Agreement
  2. The Group operates as a forum for collecting and exchanging views between the Clubs and their shipowner members on matters relating to shipowners’ liabilities, and insurance of such liabilities.
  3. The Group provides a collective industry voice for the purposes of engaging with external stakeholders including intergovernmental maritime organizations, national governments, marine authorities around the world and the shipping and marine insurance/reinsurance industries.

This webinar is a general awareness session where we intend to talk about the following:

  • Introduction to the role of P&I Clubs
  • Introduction to the International Group of P&I Clubs
  • How and when a seafarer could connect with P&I Clubs
  • The possible job opportunities in this field
  • Examples of the kind of work undertaken by ex-seafarers in Clubs
  • Overview on International Group’s P&I Qualification (P&IQ) programme

The following people will present this webinar:

Danielle Datta:
Danielle joined the Group Secretariat in 2021 following several years working in claims for Standard Club (now NorthStandard). She is a qualified solicitor (2015) and previously worked for Reed Smith specialising in maritime and insurance litigation.
